Time for an intro

Hi,

I’m Laura and ever since I can remember I’ve loved to doodle. I even took my love of graphics so far that I got a degree in communication design. One of my digital art pieces even made it to the semi-finals of the Adobe Design Achievement Awards. However I graduated during one of the worst economic times in recent history (kind of hard to keep track of those at the moment to be honest). Life happened and I ended up with a career in instructional design. It was fun, I was good at it and life happened again as I added a new job title: mom. Shortly after being laid off.

Cue Pandemic and a second baby and going back to work seemed harder and harder. Now that my youngest ‘baby’ is in preschool it’s time to go back to work. Like many moms pre-baby I was delusional in thinking there would be plenty of time, opportunity and of course support. Yea. [insert laugh cry emoji].

Anyway here we are. So for the last year or so I’ve been exploring what’s next. While the answer still isn’t completely clear. After a year of exploration and honestly clearing some of the burnout and refocussing on myself and  coming back to my creative self is the only the thing that made sense.

So here I am back to drawing, creating and exploring multiple creative passions. They all start digitally. Whether it’s a seamless file that gets printed on fabric and turned into clothes, accessories, or decor. A clip art that can be printed as a panel or sublimated onto a shirt, or an svg cut file that you cut out with your cricut, scanncut or silhouette and HTV on a sweater. I’m there for it.

Now while I’m focusing my crafting on textiles the beautiful thing is that these files work for paper crafts, journaling, junk journaling, collaging, making stickers, the original files are so versatile and that’s what I love about crafting and creating designs. You make a shirt, a bag and sticker that match so wherever you go. Because in a  world that tries to make you fade into the background it is so important to bring your joy and your play. Turn it up a notch or 10  because nobody else is going to do it for you. So will you come craft me and make the world a more interesting place?
